Cheap Single Pushchairs

If you're on a budget and don't need a stroller that doubles into car seat carriers, the Babyzen Yoyo is a good option. It comes with a flip-flop-friendly one-step footbrake.

It's easy to push and it feels solid when you are traversing kerbs and woodland trails. It's also a breeze to fold.

1. Babyzen YOYO2

The Babyzen YOYO2 has built a reputation as the most lightweight buggy for city dwellers and jet-setters alike, thanks to its nimble maneuverability and fold-down that fits into aeroplane overhead luggage. The latest version has independent suspension on all four wheels comprised of Hytrel elastomer, which allows it to perfectly navigate all terrains and types'.

The curved fabric bassinet, base YOYO2 frame and 6+ months colour pack combine to create a sleek pushchair with a delicate elegant design. The frame's base weight is less than a kilo, and is so light you can lift it from the box with one hand.

It's also easy to attach or remove adaptors or attachments like the hood for instance, snaps on to the YOYO2 using reassuring clicks and is machine washable to remove staining from rice cakes that have been smashed and half-dissolved carrot puffs. The Newborn Pack and bassinet can be used from birth as a pram. It could also be converted into a stroller after 6 months by using the YOYO connect additional chassis.

2. Evenflo Pivot Xplore

Evenflo Pivot Xplore stroller wagon is a great option for parents who are looking for a stroller that is versatile. It can be converted from a stroller into a wagon by simply flipping the handle, so parents can select the option they want to use on their journey. The wagon can accommodate one or two kids from 6 months to 5 years, and it comes with a spacious storage basket to accommodate everything you require on the go.

The Xplore also comes with two canopies that turn from front to back, providing ample sun protection for all family members. It has a smaller footprint than some wagons. This might not be ideal for long drives or naps.

The frame of the Xplore wagon is solid and sturdy, but it doesn't bend as much as some other wagons we have tried. It is also more difficult to fold than some of the other models and it doesn't close tightly when folded. It is easy to move however, and can be able to fit through narrow 28-inch doors.

3. Delta Children LX Side by Side

This Delta Children bare-bones travel stroller is a great choice for parents seeking a second stroller that's affordable. It was awarded an impressive score in our Strollers & Multiples test for weight and fold size which means it's light, compact when folded and easy to lift into a car trunk or closet. It also offers an adjustable reclining seat that can be positioned in several positions as well as a cup holder for the parent. Other key features include 360-degree shock-absorbing front wheels as well as two large storage bags that hang from the ceiling.

In our test of the push and turn it performed better than many of the other strollers that we test, but it's not the most comfortable to maneuver over uneven ground or through narrow doorways. The sunshades on it were among the smallest of all strollers we test. They only cover the top of the stroller and don't have windows that peek out. The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 and Zoe Twin+ have significantly larger sunshades.

The Delta took us just over three minutes to put together with an average manual and all of the components required tools. It's lacking some features that we consider essential in double strollers. These include an extra-large basket, reclining seats and leg rests that can be adjusted.

4. Maxi-Cosi Zelia 2-in-1

The Zelia is the latest addition to Maxi-Cosi's pushchair range and is described as an urban travel system. It is designed to carry babies from birth to around 3.5 years old, and can be converted between a seat and a carrycot by just a few clicks. It is compatible with Maxi Cosi capsule car seats. It comes with a light Mico 30 infant seat, a stay-in-car-base and reversible carriage.

It is really easy to maneuver and the one-hand reclining of the seat as well as the super large shopping basket make it easy for parent-tots to get the child out and in quickly. Although it is a small pushchair, it was able to handle the bumps of everyday life well and was able to pass through doorways without any fuss.

The front wheels are able to be locked in a forward-facing position and can also pivot. This is useful in rough terrain. On our walk on the stony path, we let them swivel and it handled this fairly well, though it did appear slightly bumpier than other models that we tested.

5. Baby Jogger City Tour 2

Baby Jogger is a household name for their three-wheeled, all-terrain jogging pushchairs, but they also offer a great selection of 4-wheel strollers. The City Tour 2 is one of their most sought-after models. It folds easily and can fit into the trunk of a car even with an attached carrycot.

It weighs more than other strollers that we test, but since it has rubber composite wheels it feels sturdy and well-made. It's a breeze to maneuver across all types of terrain. It's easy to move, even when loaded with two children and shopping bags.

Both the seat and the carrycot come with hoods that can be removed to reveal UV50and sun canopy extension. They are showerproof and sturdy, unlike some other prams' hoods that get whipped back into toddlers' faces.

It's not a lot of storage space, but it comes with a large basket deep enough to hold a change bag or plenty of groceries. It can also be used with a Baby Jogger car seat that is suitable for babies up 20 lbs (car seat and adapters are sold separately). The City Tour 2 is a ideal choice for those looking to take a stroller on the go.

6. Nuna Mixx Next

Nuna Mixx was a stroller that won the hearts of a lot of parents when it first appeared. It's an aluminium framed stroller that can see you through your baby's initial days and beyond. It comes with a variety of distinctive features like the ability to flip the seat from parent to the world, a large UPF 50+ canopy that has an eye shade that flips out and a spacious basket as well as an adjustable handlebar.

The wheels are durable and foam-filled which minimises punctures. The chassis is equipped with built-in suspension that takes the sting out of bumpy terrain. Our test driver found it easy to push and was able to maneuver it through narrow streets without difficulty.

It folds in just four steps and locks automatically without fuss. It can also be rolled and raised for easier transport down the stairs, or in the trunk of the car. The travel system is offered with the option to add an additional car seat or carrycot using the adaptors included. The brakes are a best single stroller action and are colour coded. They also work with flip-flops.

7. Babyzen Duet

This budget pushchair is simple to use and has a great dual suspension. It folds by one hand and comes with a convenient carrying strap. It is also lightweight and sturdy. The seat can be reclined into many different positions. It also comes with a double breathable mattress that's suitable for infants.

The canopy/seat comes with two big sun visors that can be fixed or removed. Both are UPF50+. The toggle closure isn't ideal since it's not as silent as Velcro and could cause sleepy babies to wake up.

The Duet is a stroller that can be used side-by-side and can be adapted to accommodate twins or other siblings (up to 22kg maximum per seat). It is compatible with two infant car seats and some carrycots. In twin mode the seats can be set so that they face each one. They can also be oriented towards the parents. This should reduce sibling arguments over who gets seated with dad and mom. It comes with a large bottle holder, a gear tray, snack trays and the ability to change mats. It also comes with a compact stand fold and automatic frame lock.

8. Baby Jogger Urban Glide 2

The Thule Urban glide 2 is the perfect jogger for parents that like to be active. It's among the lightest running strollers you can buy for your child. It comes with great safety features like five-point harnesses and a secure wrist strap. It has a different type of hand brake that is different from other models that is a twist.

The seat is comfortable and has a wide area to sit, but the depth of the seat is less than other joggers we've tried (it's approximately 10"). The storage bin is encased with a zipper that keeps things secure. It can hold 10 lbs., which is sufficient for the majority of diaper bags.

The Urban Glide 2 doesn't come with adapters to fit most bassinets and infant car seats, but you can use them from the first day using adapters that work with brands like BOB, Graco Combi Evenflo Britax UPPAbaby. It folds up compactly and takes about 5-10 minutes to assemble without tools. The instruction manual is easy to read and contains a variety of languages.
