Three Wheeled Buggies

Three-wheeled buggies are great for strolling around the neighborhood or jogging. Their compact design makes them easy to manoeuvre, even in tight spaces.

For a smooth ride, opt for a pram with air-filled tyres. Look for models with an swivel wheel that rotates 360 degrees in front. They are, however, susceptible to punctures. Make sure you have an repair kit.

Sturdy frame

Figures have just been released revealing that the three-wheeled vehicle - that noughties symbol of more money than sanity is in a decline. Four-wheelers have replaced them, which are more versatile and easier to drive, while also looking fashionable.

The basic idea is that the bigger the wheels are, the easier it will be for your buggy to cope with bumpy and rough pavements. The larger wheels, both front and rear allow you to maneuver and more stable while walking downhill or on difficult terrain.

MFM reviewer Kath tried this buggy out with a newborn and a 3 wheel double buggy year old and found it was able to handle grass, cobbles rough pavements, dirt tracks and kerbs. She noted that it was solid to push and extremely solid on rough terrain. The tyres, which are inflated and require to be pumped up occasionally and have a suspension built-in. It was extremely comfortable for my children.

The size and shape of the seat is another aspect to think about. The seat should be big enough for your child to feel comfortable and allow them to lie down. Some three-wheel buggies have a lie-flat option that allows the child to face you, while others only permit a parent-facing option.

An excellent option for taking on off-road and muddy trails is the Roma Atlas. It can be used as a single unit from birth, and then expands to accommodate two children as your family grows. It is suitable for toddlers and infants from birth to age 4. It comes with a bumper, raincover, an improved 5-point harness, and a huge cushioned seat. Storage options are also great with a large basket with zip pockets on the hood, and an extra pouch at the rear of seat unit.

Larger wheels

Larger wheels mean that your buggy will have more stability on rough terrain - perfect for off-road buggies. They also allow you to maneuver the pushchair through narrow spaces. Certain three-wheeled buggies have wheels that swivel on the front, which aid in maneuvering around tight corners. Others are designed for running and have fixed wheels that lock for increased speed and stability. This is especially useful when you hit trees or a kerb. The front wheel will be lifted slightly to prevent hitting it.

Many 3 wheel travel stroller wheel pushchairs feature air-filled tyres. This means they are able to handle a variety of terrains and are more flexible than four wheelers. They also tend to be lighter. They are also more susceptible to punctures, so you'll require a repair kit and spare inner tube in your arsenal.

Mountain Buggy Core, Venicci Carbo and Venicci Carbo lux are some of our favourite 3 wheel parent facing pushchair-wheelers. These buggies, as per MFM's Kath, have larger wheels which she claims "perform well on grass, gravel roads and market town cobbles", and can easily move up and down kerbs. They also have suspension that Kath says "smooths out bumps with great efficiency".

Buggies with larger wheels may be quite large, and they may be a challenge to fit into narrow spaces. This is a problem especially if you're using it to a jogger or you need to to get through narrow doorways when out and about. Many models have compact folding options that permit you to take off the front wheels and store them in a more compact manner.

Easy to Manoeuvre

A three-wheeled buggy is more maneuverable for children. They are designed so that the front wheels can rotate at a moment's notice, and are easy to maneuver, making them perfect for challenging terrain such as parks, cobblestones, bumpy roads, and dirt tracks.

MFM reviewer Kath tried the 3-wheeler with her toddler, and she reported: "The Terrain is a joy to maneuver on uneven terrain. The swivel wheel front was particularly useful." I was also impressed with how well it handled kerbs with the hand-operated break. It was extremely stable when for descending or on uneven terrain."

The only drawback to this amazing maneuverability is that the larger wheels of the 3 wheel buggy can sometimes make it difficult to squeeze into tight spaces. This is something you need to be aware of if your home area is an urban area. If this is a problem then a four-wheeled buggy might be the better option for you.
